DIY Espresso Sugar Scrub

December 15, 2014

I love my coffee. I really, really, really love my coffee. Today is one of those days that I NEED it just to move. The babies did not sleep well last night and well in turn neither did I.

Add a 5-year-old that is having a I won’t listen day, hubby being on week two without a day off that is well my chance to get away for a shower longer than 5 minutes and if I am really lucky a nap.

Some days I need a good pick me up. In this case, I put a movie on for the kids in my room and hopped into the shower for 5 minutes of quite bliss. To enjoy my espresso sugar scrub.

I took the time to enjoy a hot shower that smelled like a fresh pot of super strong espresso while the real stuff brewed downstairs.

This scrub leaves your skin soft and thanks to the exfoliation and the benefits of the coffee it’s good for me too. See I have been working to lose weight and because of that, I have to work on tightening up my skin a bit as my weight goes down. This scrub smells great and helps that out a bit. Oh, and it’s super easy to make.

Make your own espresso sugar scrub you will need.

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh ground espresso beans
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil.

Make your own espresso sugar scrub

Making the scrub is super easy. Simply place everything into a large mixing bowl. And well mix, mix, mix until everything is smooth and combined. If you want a more liquid based scrub, add more oil but for me, I like it rough for better exploitation.

When the hot water hits this scrub coffee begins to brew right in your shower. For any woman like me well you can’t really beat that fresh brewed coffee smell for making a rough morning a little bit better. Nope, I take that back. Espresso fudge still beats this coffee sugar scrub.

Do you mean exfoliation rather than exploitation? I suspect auto correct had been at work.

Oh my yes auto correct often gets the best of me. Thank you so much for pointing out the error so I can fix it.
